Bowen

Bowen Therapy is a treatment that involves a sequence of small, gentle moves across fibres by the rolling of muscle and tendon in an organised manner. It is a gentle and powerful technique that sends neurological impulses through activating receptors to the brain resulting in immediate responses of muscle release and pain reduction.

These receptors inform the nervous system of the state of tension, lengthen or stretch in the muscles bringing a balance to the mental, physical and emotional well being with non intrusive movements. Bowen treatment can bring lasting relief from pain and discomfort and a return the body back to balance.

In contrast to other hands-on modalities, where the practitioner imposes correction on the client through manipulation, Bowen Technique facilitates the body in healing itself, with minimal intervention. The body can experience continuing therapeutic benefit over several days post treatment and other forms of manipulative therapy are discouraged for up to five days after a session, as they may interfere with the efficacy of the work.

Bowen Therapy can be used to help treat a variety of conditions including:

  • Shoulder and upper Back Pain
  • Mid and lower Back Pain
  • Neck, Head Tension and Whiplash
  • Knee Pain
  • Ankle Pain
