OSTEOPATHY
What is Osteopathy?
Osteopathy is a gentle, hands-on, whole-of-body treatment for the relief and realignment of muscles, bones and joints – with benefits to tissues including major organs and the nervous system.
Osteopathy seeks to locate within the body the origin of injuries, as opposed to simply focusing on and treating the presenting site of pain. This comprehensive approach greatly improves the quality and effectiveness of the subsequent diagnosis and treatment strategy.
First developed by American Dr Andrew Taylor, in the 1870‘s, Osteopathy today is recognised internationally as one of the most scientifically sound and effective complementary therapies.
Osteopathic treatment is suitable for people of all ages and stages of life, from the very young to the elderly. Osteopathic treatment can be used in preparing the body for surgery or to assist with post-surgery rehabilitation.
