GENTLE, HANDS-ON, WHOLE-OF-BODY TREATMENT

What is Osteopathy?
Relief and Realignment of Muscles, Bones and Joints.
Osteopathy is a gentle, hands-on, whole-of-body treatment for the relief and realignment of muscles, bones and joints – with benefits to tissues including major organs and the nervous system.
Osteopathy seeks to locate within the body the origin of injuries, as opposed to simply focusing on and treating the presenting site of pain. This comprehensive approach greatly improves the quality and effectiveness of the subsequent diagnosis and treatment strategy.
The History of Osteopathy
From its origins to modern practice
First developed by American Dr Andrew Taylor in the 1870s, osteopathy is now recognised internationally as one of the most scientifically sound and effective complementary therapies.
Osteopathic treatment is suitable for people of all ages and stages of life, from the very young to the elderly. It can be used to prepare the body for surgery or to support post-surgery rehabilitation, and may provide relief from muscular pain, headaches, migraines, back, neck and shoulder pain, sciatica, sports injuries, postural problems, asthma and pregnancy-related discomfort.
